Welcome to our website

We are a mixed choir of over 50 members, drawn from Penrith and the Eden Valley.

The choir’s aim is to provide enjoyment for members and audiences alike by performing a range of sacred and secular music from our extensive repertoire which stretches from Bach to Bacharach.

The choir was founded in 1978 by Ronald Emmerson, a talented choirmaster and leading member of the local musical scene. Ron retired in 1995 and we are fortunate to have Gareth Cozens as our conductor, ably assisted by Janet Wilkinson as accompanist.

Any surplus funds are donated at the end of each year to good causes in North-east Cumbria. We are a very friendly choir and we believe we should enjoy choral singing but at the same time we also aim to achieve a high standard of performance.

We are grateful for assistance we have received from The Hadfield Trust and Cumbria County Council Neighbourhood Forum
